Who originally wrote Until I Found You?
"Until I Found You" is a song by American singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez. It was released on September 1, 2021 as the lead single from Sanchez's second extended play Easy on My Eyes.
Stephen Sanchez's 'Evangeline' is based on a sample of Bobby Goldboro's single "Honey." Sanchez said that the first time he heard the song, he "felt immediately inspired," and despite sampling not previously being something he had ever been "moved to pursue," he wrote his own take on the track in just 15 minutes.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the first song to use a sample was 'He's Gonna Step on You Again'. The 1971 song by South African musician John Kongos used a sample of a recorded African drumming track.
Stephen Sanchez is just 19, but his breakout hit "Until I Found You" sounds like it was recorded in the 1950s. That's because his biggest musical inspiration is African-American vocal groups of that 1930s, 40s and 50s, which he says he loves because the music back then was so emotional.
Although Sanchez's musical genre is more classic, he creates his own unique style by writing original, thoughtful songs that are based on his own contemporary experiences.
Season two of Netflix's Ginny & Georgia takes the top spot on Billboard's Top TV Songs chart, powered by Tunefind, for January 2023, thanks to its usage of Stephen Sanchez's hit “*ntil I Found You.”
